A friend of mine bought a new car maruti ritz VXI, i know it looks a bit foolish question to ask but i asked him what is the meaning of VXI in that he told me that he doesn't know my father took up the model from his own choice afterwards i asked him that why didn't he buy LXI model which is available at much lower rates. He told me that he don't know someone suggested him so he buy it. I wan't to know that what does all these models means and what are their significance.

No it's not a foolish question Seema. You don't know about the car models that's not a big issue, a foolish question was i think will be of your friend who bought up a new car and he didn't know about this. As per your knowledge i would like to tell you that tags which end with "Xi" indicate a petrol engine and "Di" for diesel engine and Vxi/Vdi is provided with some essential features like power windows power steering and things like that and zxi/zdi points to the highest model which has extra features additional to Vxi/Vdi like air bags ABS [Anti Braking System] steering controls for audio player and integrated audio system in simple expression.

That is interesting information though I had some basic idea about Di being form diesel, but never able to generalize. Thanks for sharing.

Like your clothes with X, XL XXL etc. representing the
size. Similarly in vehicles companies tag their car with
LX, LXI, ZXI etc.
Like wise as the first letter changes, so does the
features in the car changes. Starting from LXI all the
way to ZXI.
In any Maruti car ZXI has max. features fitted from
the company.
And tag without " I ", i.e. VX, LX means that version
got no power steering.
