I told him (via text), basically that it was just too hurtful for me that he wouldn't lift a finger & ran the other way as soon as our RL got even a little bit hard (parent disapproval, whatever). He didn't respond to that. Great.

Later on he finally responded to the text. .. to tell me our mutual grocery store is having a huge sale on salmon today (my favorite) & tell me something exciting about his work day. SERIOUSLY?? That's the response to my honest explanation of why I'm so hurt/done with him?

Of course I didn't respond. I'd just love to understand why a person would be this bizzarely avoidiant. Oh my life...

So after 2 months no contact, apparently he found out about my new boyfriend thru Facebook. (Yes, I fully moved on... Finally, right?!) So he text messages me to say: "I'm so happy from the bottom of my heart that u found someone who makes u happy." He then went on to tell me about some big career success he had recently. "I thought you'd be happy for me. Promise I won't bother u anymore. Take care."

I feel like if I respond to my ex, we're going right back to what he wants: To be my "friend" and use me for emotional gain/validation, while not having to commit to me (since I'm in a new relationship). Seems pointless for me to reply right?

Now since you have moved out and forward of your previous relationship and your ex-boyfriend, its better to cease all contacts with him. We advise you to do this because we believe, there is no point in striking those emotional chords again or bringing back the old memories and cry for them.

So, its not your fault at all if he could make up the mark or couldn't take a stand for you. You have moved on and that's what the best you could do. Tell him not to keep in touch with you through any means because though you guys are acquaintance, but now strangers who shouldn't interfere with each other's respective lives.
