My boyfriend is less qualified than me. We are in a relationship for the last six months. His parents have approved me. But my brother and my parents dont approve since he is less qualified than me. He is earning four times of what I am earning currently in a different country. However, the problem with my family is that they ask a question what will happen when he comes back to India. they are not even ready to meet the guy or his parents. My boy's mother is suffering from a disease which is also a concern for my parents. Please help me as I cant live without my boyfriend as I cannot see him with anybody else. Also I dont want to spoil my family's prestige. Please help.

Education definitely matters when parents look for a match, but if the understanding between the partners is good and they love each other and respect each others decision, then one should not give light to the education, also what is highlighted to me is the income he earns which you say is 4 times than that of yours, so why on the earth will he like to come and settle in India, there might be some other issue as well behind this, you have to discuss it with your family very clearly, you haven't talked here anything about his or yours family background, kindly elaborate something about your bf and his family so that I can get some hint if there might be any, as to what else could be the reason for denial (e.g caste, subcaste) as to what most parents do not get ready to tie knot of the couples with each other.
