I've been trying to date, but have not yet got any success, so one of my friends has said that I need to regularly go to a place where girls can see and notice me and if I come there regularly, then I can get good enough success rates.

Otherwise approaching strangers in public places (with question like where is this location, where do I get this job done and trying to extend the conversation with questions about the girl) or getting a setup done via a friend is bound to fail cause it's hard for a girl to just start talking to a stranger and get friendly with him.

Practically, I've seen this happening. In all such places where I used to go regularly, atleast 1 girl has passed me hints of interest to me, but I was not dating then.

But once a (rather hot) girl approached me the first time she saw during an exam, so I'm not sure if this theory holds...

So in short what I'm trying to ask is, is it fesable to approach girls in public places or get a setup done by a friend?

I'm targeting girls 18 to 23 and I'm myself around that age range. Thanks for sharing any opinion.

Depends on the girl. If you will approach in public and if luck favors u, then its good.. But in case, it doesnt.. Then situation could be really different..
So never try to approach in a direct manner, just give a little sign of ur interest to the girl.. And if u get a positive reply then proceed further..
Slow and steady, in case you are completely unknown to the girl and vice versa.

Kindly clear me your intentions of dating a girl? Are you looking for a permanent affair, something like, looking for Miss Right with whom you intend to spend the whole of your life, or, you just need a companion with whom you can hang out and have fun with no strings attached?

If the former one is your reason to date a girl, then, let me be very clear, love doesn't happen this way. You cannot simply fall for any strange girl over a date and neither will a girl fall for you in the same manner. Love is something that comes natural. It will happen when you expect it to happen the least. So, its better to back off now and stop hunting for it. It will happen, when its time.

If the latter is your reason to date a girl, you might find someone but this kind of "relationship" will lead you nowhere. And ofcourse, it depends on the girl itself. Yes, you may find such companion anywhere where there are girls - discos, pubs, parties, through a common friend, online through social networks and dating sites, etc. You can hit someone you like, and if wavelength matches, who knows you might strike a chord.

But I really don't appreciate with the latter part. Try to go for a permanent one, that's the best. May be because you belong to an age group where these things might seem pleasurable, but they are all for a while. Surrounded by girls, being a Casanova or a Playboy is a dream of every guy who belongs to that age group, but its all very much temporary.

Still, its your life, your ways and you are free to do anything you please.
