I feel cheated after buying Xiaomi Mi 4i phone, it is good and also works well in almost all field but the battery heating issue is too much and its sometimes so much that it feels dangerous to use the phone. If I am playing game on it for long or even talking on for a while, it gets so hot that I can't hold it in for long. I searched for solution over internet and I think lots of people are also facing same problem.

I contacted flipkart and the checked the phone with Smartcheck application and said my phone is fine and they can't replace it. So what should I do ?

I just answered another post with similar question, what you are calling as issue could be just the way phone is, and it is problem with almost all smartphones. The more computing power, the more heat it generates as by-product. I suggest you to upgrade to latest MIUI 6.5.5.0 if you have not already updated. This new update comes with temperature optimization.

Today we began an over-the-air system update of MIUI v6.5.5.0 for Mi 4i users. This is our first major update for the Mi 4i since its launch last month, incorporating feedback from many early Mi 4i users with a number of bug fixes and optimizations.

We’ve heard from some Mi 4i users that their devices can get warm under more strenuous conditions such as complex 3D gaming for extended periods of time. To address these concerns, we’ve optimized our thermal control algorithms to better regulate the temperature. The new thermal controls adjust frequency, voltage and the number of cores in use depending on the chipset temperature.

In all of our internal testing and pre-OTA release in the MIUI Forum and beta testers, we’ve observed that these changes reduce the device overall temperature without impacting performance. It’s pretty cool! (sorry for the pun, couldn’t help it lol)
