Is there any way to change the name of an email id?
For eg firstname.lastname@example.org to email@example.com.
If yes, will i still recieve mails sent to the old name ?
I don't think there is any way of changing, all you need is to create new email with desired name. Where you host your email, is it personal domain or public service ?
I dont know what a public domain is,all i know is that it is an embarassing E-mail id i created some years ago,it is a gmail id....Sorry to be off topic:I never got a notification when you replied to my thread...how am i supposed to know that someone has communicated?
You can see through "subscribed threads" under "quick links"
By public domain I meant, using free service like gmail , yahoo or using your own domain with email service, in either case if you change ID, you will give it again to users.
However, one way is that you can create new ID and then set that new ID to automatically fetch email from old gmail ID, that way you will not loose data of old mail and can actively start using new mail.
Ok thanks a lot,i will surely try this and i think there is a huge probability that this will work!
