Sheru Classic Bodybuilding champion ship to be held in Pune at October 5 and 6
The first edition of Sheru Classic was held in Mumbai in 2011 followed by Delhi last year. Interestingly, wrestling has been included in Sheru Classic from this year. The inclusion was on the anvil since Olympic medalist wrestler Sushil Kumar made an announcement for adding wrestling in the event during the Delhi edition.
According to the organisers, Sheru Classic was started with an aim to boost the profile of professional bodybuilding and fitness in Asia. Sheru Aangrish, co-founder CEO, Sheru Classic Production Pvt Ltd, told Mirror, “We decided to host the event in Pune this year as it is known as the Oxford of East.
The city has a lot of youngsters. We have got a positive feedback from our research team. I will be visiting Pune next week to finalise the venue for the event.” Cash prizes worth $2,10,000 dollars were awarded to athletes in the 2012 edition, which was also one of the biggest bodybuilding competition in India.
