They say lack of co-ordination hampered rescue operations

Union home minister Sushilkumar Shinde admitted on Saturday that lack of coordination between government agencies in Uttarakhand has hampered rescue work.

Shinde, who arrived here to review rescue operations in the wake of the tragedy, said operations are underway on a war footing to evacuate about 40,000 pilgrims still stranded.

Shinde termed the deluge as a "national crisis" and set a three-day deadline to the agencies engaged in evacuation work to complete the process.

He said steps are being taken up on a war footing to rescue those stranded despite bad weather hampering operations by security forces.

Now tell me what is new in this, it is actually all the time when lack of co-ordination in various department of Government resulted in inefficiency , delay and harm ? When there was attack on Mumbai years back, at that time too serious lack of co-ordination was shown among nation security agencies , that time too Govt. had decided to fix it but we need to do a lot more ..
