Hello Hanumandlu, Welcome to eTI.
Huawei E1550 is HSDPA modem which support 3G , however, for increased speed, you should have 3G service available in your area, most probably 3G is not available in your area and hence its only working in EDGE mode which support speed upto 236.8 kbps. Try to set modem in HSDPA mode, if there are not signal then 3G is not available in your area.
Below are details I get about your modem:
* Manufacturer: Huawei
* Colour: Black
* UMTS frequency bands: 2100Mhz
* GSM/GPRS/EDGE frequencies - 850 MHz, 900 MHz, 1800 MHz, 1900MHz
* Supports 3.6Mbps HSDPA
* Max Upload 0.384Mbps
* Support Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows Vista and Mac OS X
* USB 2 Supported
* Sending and receiving SMS messages enabled
* Internal antenna diversity
* External Antenna Slot: No
* Micro SD Slot: Yes, up to 4GB
