Indian shares rose 1.5 percent in early trade on Monday, with sentiment lifted after many companies said they had only limited exposure to Dubai and as Asian stocks rebounded after a tumble on Friday.
At 9:56 a.m. (0426 GMT), the 30-share BSE index .BSESN was up 1.5 percent at 16,881.46 points, with 28 components advancing.
The 50-share NSE Index .NSEI was up 1.5 percent at 5,015.05.
