Parents against marriage because of Education and Looks

hi,
am in love with the person who is in same caste and profession as mine .His parents will agree for our marriage only if my parents go ahead with our proposal. But the problem is that my parents doesn't like him because he is just graduate and not good looking. They need a guy who is postgraduate and well settled in financially too. Now i am in home arrest since 4 months. Atlast his parents moved our proposal to my family but they rejected . what should i do??? please help
