Front panel audio wires must be connected to onboard sound of motherboard, since your onboard sound is not working anymore, they will not work. IF your card has extra slot/pin for front audio jack then connect it to front panel audio wires.
Else buy a audio extension cable, connect it to back and use it as if you are using front audio jack. A generic audio extension cable can cost you around Rs. 20- 50 .
