Hi,
I am trying to add an entry for IP in windows hosts file but I get error of a Access Denied.
I am editing following file : C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc
I need to edit this because I need to add an host entry for a IP in my lan but I can't save it. I am logged in as Admin account but still can't save it.
I also disabled my antivirus software because I have seen my antivirus software saying access blocked to hosts but still can't save this file.
Any help will be appreciated.
In windows 7 you can't edit hosts file even if you are logged in with administrator privileges, to edit your hosts file all you need to do is run your notepad as administrator , (right click notepad icon and click run as administrator) and then open your host from notpad, now you should be able to save it.
