Girl deny for relation but still showing interest

Hi ! I have a friend his name is Amit and he like a girl which was his neighborhood. The girl often see him and he also look to her. One day he went to talk to them but the girl deny him to talk. After sometime my friend stop looking to her but the girl still look at him. So, help to find the problem of the girl. whether she interested or not ? If she interested then why she deny to talk to him ?

Earlier she was not really interested as was just giving you friendly look but now she is interested as she know that you are interested in her ie. your friend Amit. Now she is interested to see that how this guy will react as he likes me or whatever she thinks. If your friend likes her then he can simply again show interest in her and let her chance to interact with him.
