retrival of data from usb drives without opening it

hiii,,how can i retrive something from any pendrive or flashdrives without opening it so that i get maximum security from viruses??

Best way is to have autorun disable for flash drive as well as have a good antivirus installed.

I recommend Avira Personal Antivirus, its free and very good.
