Original Charger of my Laptop lost buying local wouldn't affect it's hardware?

Hi,
I usually travelled alot in bus or in any means of public transport. One day when i was returning home from my office i was on my laptop and working in a bus from the bag my charger and laptop where placed near my seat. And some how when my stop came i forgot to pick up the charger i ran over the bus but couldn't catch it laterwhile when i went to bus stand where the bus stops i checked the whole bus and it was not there. So, i was thinking to buy a cheaper charger(local) but the query in my mind was does the local charger creates any harm to the hardware. If it does then please reply me as soon as possible.
