Sachin Tendulkar's new record-Topples Lara's record of highest runs

In 152 Test matches, Tendulkar averages 54.23 and has 39 centuries and 49 half-centuries to his credit. His highest score is 248 not out against Bangladesh. He could have broken the record in first match against Australia but he was dismissed at 49 runs, short of 14 runs to break the record.

Tendulkar already owns the run-scoring record in one-day internationals, as well as the most centuries in both forms of the game. Also, Sachin has no plan to retire soon so think this record as one of the greatest record as soon it will become even more strong.

He enjoys the singular distinction of being the first and only Test Cricketer to score above 12,000 runs in test matches! He is a simple man with an extra heavy bat, but modest personality. When he is batting, he is a model of concentration. Tendulkar does not appear to be playing to set records, but just plays each ball on its own merits! Ricky Ponting of Australia and Rahul Dravid of India are not very far behind him, but he is still going strong, and by the time he retires from the game, one may safely assume that he will have set an unbeatable World record.
