You can go for ford Figo , it is still one of the best all round car in this range. Other option you can look into are Beat Diesel, Swift Diesel which is also a good option. Then Punto diesel can also make you feel good. Most of them give mileage of 18-20 on highways. You can also check out Ritz Diesel. Most of them are near or slightly higher than your 5lakh budget.
For space and comfort, you can also give a look to Indica Vista.

Dont go for ford figo because maintenance cost of this car is very high ..as well as mileage of this car 12 kmpl that is not enough .You have many option like....Quote:

@Jessica-Beat is good only in terms of looks.
It has a very underpowered engine and not ample space,interiors are best in class.But not a good buy for the OP.
@People suggesting Swift Diesel-Have a second look at his budget.
@OP-Ritz diesel is the best car in this range which only one person suggested.The car has enough power,good mileage,Ample space and its a Suzuki so you get no problems while selling it.
If the most important factor is Fuel economy as you have mentioned in your post,then the Tata Indica is undoubtedly the one for you.
P.S-Stay away from Tata.
