This one of the most talked about trick on the internet. All you have to do is to restrict the network to WCDMA mode.
I recharged with 98 and hoped to get 3g speed but i did not get the speed. But soon i realiized that my balance was below 50.......as soon as i recharged my account, i got 3g speed!
So whenever doing this, make sure you have-
1. above 50.00 balance
2. 3g availbale in your area
3. network restricted to UMTS/WCDMA/3g mode
This is not true anymore, overall speed of BSNL 3G is not reduced that its better to not to use it. I also have a BSNL 2G SIM, it has more than 500 Rupess as main balance but it is giving only 60-100kbps at an average.. don't confuse it with kiloBytes. I am talking about Kilobits.. so that is speed you can generally get on EDGE even without 3G.
Dunno about you. But i get around 200-290 kbps (UP west)
And thats Kilobyte! coz 1mb files download in about 6-8 seconds
Then you are lucky as I Just checked it and its not even crossing 100kpbs.
This is not possible; everything depends on signal strength, and correct configuration

I trick is over mate. Most of the operators have fixed the loopholes......some say the trick works with aircel (and the plans are also cheap.....give a try)
get a 3g labeled card of bsnl it will give the 3g speed from 2g recharge with 3g apn..ok guys so enjoy..
Hey please give me your configuration guys cause i don't get speed more than 15kbps. If i get only 50kbps i'll be satisfied. Pleeeeeeeeease help me...
is your sim old means 2 to 3 years old?

i took a new sim of bsnl i used in my 3g device....i used 2g sim in 2g recharge but in wcdma mood...first two days it gave me upto 250 kbps but after tat it is hardly gaving me 20 to 30kbps......
Just get an old sim (old about 2 to 3 years when frc's are not used )and you will automatically get 3g speeds n 2g plans , i am a worker in bsnl company and it is loops givens by company to old customers

hey....I am using a samsung galaxy ace and i activated wcdma but lts not gettin and f oes back to the earlier mode...i m using bsnl mithram plan...does it have anything to do wid that...i really need ur help, dude.....
