Tata Nano News- Tata finally shifted Nano Project to Ahmedabad-Gujarat

http://i297.photobucket.com/albums/m...aahib/tata.jpgAfter facing controversies in West Bengal, finally TATAs announced the shift of project to Northcote Cattle Farm in Sanand, 30 km from Ahmedabad, Gujarat. While this will delay the rollout of word's cheapest car but still TATAs are committed to roll out Nano in the last quarter of the this financial year.

Tata's stocks are already up in the hope of Nano, while protests at Singur, West Bengal hampered progress of Nano production, the Tata made quick moves to shift it to Gujarat. Tata took decision to shift project to Ahmedabad after having survey at various placed around the country including Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Uttarakhand etc.

The Gujarat government today handed over 1,100 acres of prime land for the project. The Tata group will invest Rs 2,000 crore to manufacture the Nano and its variants including an electric car and a CNG car.

The project was almost 90% completed at Singur, West Bengal while TATA announced shift to project to Gujarat. Though farmers were given compensation at much higher rates but still they were not happy and may be involvement of Govt. made thing hard for TATA over Singur. The clear reason for the TATA's loss over Singur despite of full support from State Govt. seems to be lack of transparency in talks between protester and Tata management.

The plant will have a capacity to manufacture 250,000 cars a year in the first phase, which will be built up to 500,000 cars a year.

The project complex will also house a vendor and ancillary park accommodating 60 small and medium units and “could be bigger than the project originally envisaged,” Tata said.

Meanwhile, Tata Motors will explore the possibility of manufacturing the Nano at its facilities at Pune, Maharashtra, and Pantnagar, Uttarakhand, to meet the launch deadline.

While Gujarat took advantage of having better infrastructure and also having good image as per Industrial point of view, Tata said the other reason to choose Gujarat was location of the land provided as well as the price TATA has to pay for acquisition.

Its a right decision by Tata and the right move by Mr.Modi to seize the project for his state. The whole Gujarat is in support of Mr.Modi for acquiring :D this project to his state. Hats off to Modi.

Certainly Mr RatanTata is right ,even delayed decision is better than continuing wrong decision trying but unhappily. Mamata and her small party would have continued blackmailing the Nano project ever long! What is incurable has to be discarded. Mr Tata and his team are to congratulated. Unfortunately,West Bengal has remained a breeding place for negative thinking and thus destructive, a policy pursued with CPM initiation once and now they themselves have become victim.What you sow today must reap it tomorrow. Mamata is a product of 30-yr long CPM-reign in Bengal, far too long. In fact,Jyoti Basu is responsible for all these. He need not shed tears now! Buddha will be successful only years hence from now. Already millions of educated Bengalees have fled from the country of birth for placement elsewhere. Even the high Govt officials of GUJRAT State are mostly Bengalees and lo they are considered competant enough there ,whereas in West Bengal the IAS Officers are always bypassed for critical decision making process.The govt is run by the aged politicians from Alimuddin St office of CPM ! They need to learn much more from our Narendra Modi than Karl Marx or Lenin.--- / Asit K Bhattacharya

Lets not make this a matter of regionalism. But certainly TATA moving out of Singur is a loss for Bengal as well as people of Bengal. So, what is the real cause of farmer's protest ..
Is it Political ? If political then why common man took part in it ie. farmers ?
The farmers were paid far better price than the current rate of land there and still farmers were unhappy.. it was a win-win situation for farmers ie. getting good money for land and also getting work in factory too.

Well, looking into the issue I think that the situation was created because of bad Governmental Management, most of the money allotted to farmers never reached them and corruption ate it, further more bad politics made the situation worst..
Actually TATA took help of Govt. for land acquisition. If they had done it directly then would have never faced such situation..

In the end..what we get.. losses of resources, money and time.. for both.. TATA and for W.Bengal and for farmers... ultimately for the Country !
