The company introduced the bike, priced at Rs 46,000 (ex-showroom across the country), with a single spark ignition engine based on Controlled Combustion Variable Timing Intelligent (CC-VTi) technology.
The TVS Flame Bike which went in to controversy with Bajaj over using their patented DTSi technology in Flame. Despite the court order, the company would be able to launch the bike as it has decided to not use use of two spark plugs which was challenged by Bajaj—and instead use only one. The problem was all about the use of a technology called digital twin spark ignition (DTSi), which uses two spark plugs instead of one, for better fuel efficiency.
Company said that there is no change in Fuel efficiency of Flame by this engine alteration. TVS is third largest manufacturer of bikes in terms of volumes and surely it will help company to make its presence more promising in the market. There are other sheer competition and basically they started working on this bike as they might have thought a challenge from Bajaj XCD which is also a 125 cc bike.
