Ashok Leyland has announced their entry into passenger vehicle segment by launching a passenger utility vehicle, Ashok Leyland Stile in Indian market. This model has been developed through a collaboration of Ashok Leyland and Japanese Auto maker Nissan. The company has launched this model in number of versions which include a seven seater, an eight seater, shuttle van, courier van and ambulance.


The company will start the production of Ashok Leyland Stile by year 2013 and the production of this car will be handled by Ashok Leyland alone. This model will be offered in various engine versions such as common rail diesel engine, a dual fuel CNG, a fuel efficient petrol engine. While Ashok Leyland will handle the production and development it's engine units will be outsourced from Nissan Motors. The company officials have claimed that the needs and requirements of Indian buyers will be kept in mind and it will be priced in a lower segment as compared to Nissan Evalia.
