    Gold dipped slightly on Wednesday but held near an 11-month high, as uncertainty over Spain’s bailout plan kept investors on their toes while they wait for a key U.S. job market report expected to show the effectiveness of the latest stimulus.

    Gold extended gains on Friday, holding near an 11-month high hit in the prior session as the European Central Bank said it was ready to buy bonds to help the bloc’s debt-laden nations, boosting bullion’s appeal as a hedge against inflation.

    Gold hit an 11-month high early o n F riday then retreated to end lower after bullion’s appeal as An inflation hedge was dampened by a surprising drop in U.S. unemployment rate to a four-year low.
    SPOT GOLD

    Spot gold was down 0.6 percent at $1,777.19.
    OIL

    Oil prices fell in volatile trading on Friday and posted weekly losses as a fragile global economy and uncertainty about Europe’s debt crisis offset support from a better-than-expected U.S. employment report.
    BRENT CRUDE

    Brent November crude fell 56 cents to settle at $112.02 a barrel on Friday.
    U.S.CRUDE

    U.S. November crude fell $1.83, or 2.0 percent, to settle at $89.88 a barrel.

    GOLD
    Gold hovered just above $1,760 an ounce on Wednesday after three straight sessions of losses, as a murky outlook for global growth buoyed the dollar and pressured bullion.

    SPOT GOLD
    Spot gold was trading nearly flat at $1,762.65.

    OIL
    Brent crude rose more than 2 percent on Tuesday on the threat of supply disruption as tensions escalate in the Middle East.

    BRENT CRUDE

    Brent November crude rose $2.68, or 2.40 percent, to settle at $114.50 a barrel

    U.S.CRUDE

    U.S. crude falling around 0.6 percent to below $92.

    Oil prices edged up in choppy trading on Wednesday


    GOLD

    Gold nudged lower on Thursday, on course for its fifth straight day of losses as gloom over the euro zone’s debt crisis supported the dollar, weighing on bullion.

    SPOT GOLD

    Spot gold inched down 0.2 percent to $1,759.19.

    OIL

    Brent crude futures eased on Wednesday in choppy trading as concerns about slowing economic growth hit Wall Street equities and pulled oil lower, after prices had received an early lift from tension in the Middle East.

    BRENT CRUDE

    Brent November crude fell 17 cents, or 0.15 percent, to settle at $114.33 a barrel.

    U.S.CRUDE

    U.S. crude edged up 34 cents to $91.59.

    U.S. crude rose towards $93 a barrel on Friday

    GOLD

    Gold was little changed on Friday, holding on to gains in the previous session when the dollar eased from a one-month high, but bullion was headed for its biggest weekly drop in two months.

    SPOT GOLD

    Spot gold was little changed at $1,768.49.

    OIL

    Brent crude futures rose on Thursday as escalating Middle East tensions reinforced concerns about supply from the region and as North Sea production continued to be curbed by maintenance.

    BRENT CRUDE

    Brent November crude rose $1.38, or 1.21 percent, to settle at $115.71.

    U.S.CRUDE

    U.S. crude was up 27 cents at $92.34.
