    Very good question. I am not very good in that but stocks are like buying a part in companies profit for the amount you have invested but commodities are barely future trading.. you just promise you will buy it at certain rate and if do not settle the trade then you have to buy it actually or cancel the order. Also, commodity trading is simply trading on price fluctuation of commodities we use in daily life while stock trading largely depends upon performance of a company and as well condition prevailing at time of trading.

    Stocks are a share (A part) of a business where as Commodities are shares of tangible assets like Gold, oil, electricity etc

    A stock is a combination of shares together put as one unit, while commodity as the name suggests, are the tangible items traded over stock exchange like Gold, Silver, Oil, Electricity etc.

    Even though stocks and commodity futures are traded on exchanges, they are different instruments. A share of stock represents a position of ownership in a company. A commodity futures contract is an obligation for the holder of the contract to buy or sell a specific quantity of a particular commodity at a specific price and location at a specific date in the future. It is not tied to the product of a particular company, but rather a standardized product that is widely accepted throughout the relevant industry.

    Commodity Market concern with MCX & NCDEX, i.e. MCX for all metal and NCDEX for all Agri product. On the other hand Stock is related to shares which are buying, like any company share or in other words, A stock market or equity market is the aggregation of buyers and sellers of stocks (shares); these are securities listed on a stock exchange as well as those only traded privately.

    Stocks are the part where the physical things is not traded and cash,currency is traded whereas in commodity phsical things like grains,oil,etc are traded.

    Stocks are part of company which a trader buys and earn returns on those stocks , whereas commodities are agricultural commodities, precious metals, base metals, oils and gas.
