    Advert.
    The Constitution of India does not give any language the status of the national language. Hindi and English are used for official purposes such as legislation, judiciary, and communications between the Central Government and the State Government.

    The Eighth Schedule to the Constitution lists 22 languages, which are referred to as scheduled languages and gives them recognition.

    Therefore, The Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said not a single but all local languages in the country are national languages under the new National Education Policy, which aims to prioritize their significance.
