The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Class X results are out. Yet again, it seemed to be cracked entirely by the students who really connect their days and nights together preparing for the first ever test of their big leap into the professional world.
This year again saw some record-breaking performances. There were 47,821 students achieving 90 percent in aggregate while a whopping 4,933 of them crossed the 95 percent barrier. In the year 2008, students scoring more than 90 percent counted 29,936.
Chennai region witnessed 15,735 students falling under the 90 percent and above category being the numero uno of all the regions whose results has been declared. Allahabad region stood second with 13,893 students crossing the magic number.
Boys this time overpowered the girls by a smaller margin as 24,801 boys in the six zones have crossed the 90 percent while the number for girls is 23,020.
This year 8,28,598 students took the class X exams all over India and abroad. Out of this 3,43,467 were girls.
Overall pass percentage at 88.84, has witnessed to have a record marginal increase of 1.76% from last year. Girls with a pass percentage of 89.78 outshone the boys making up 88.18. Overall pass percentage was the highest in the Chennai region registering 95.60%, again a record.
This year actually witnessed many records being rewritten. CBSE needs to put their thinking cap on as to what’s happening? Whether the papers set are not up to the mark or the educational institutes are getting out the better of the students.
