According to Reserve Bank of India notes beginning with serial no 2 AQ & 8 AC is suspect. The Mumbai Anti-Terrorism Squad has seized 345 fake 1000-rupee notes, beginning with the numbers 2 AQ and 8 AC.

India is facing a severe economic war being waged against it by Pakistan using fake currency notes. According to official estimates, around 1, 98,000 fake notes worth Rs 2,000 crore are in circulation in the country.

The RBI has admitted that fraudsters have access to unique security features such as Optically Variable Ink and Colour Shift Security Thread. These are being used to print the fake notes.

The RBI has alerted banks to use note sorting machines or CVPS machines to spot the fake notes.

recently I got one fake note. I was unable to differentiate between real or fake.. but one of my friend guided to check .

So I am sharing it with you.

1) The quality of paper (note ) is very thin
2) The fake not is more shinier than real.
3) The Mahatama Ghandhi Picture on the white portion which is transparent is not similar like the Picture on the other side..
4) The silver strip size on the note is large or smaller in fake note.

hmm so next time be aware of this...

If i get the fake notes what shd i do? suppose i am giving it to RBI? will they replace those fake notes with original note? or i am at loss?

Well, in short you are at LOSS (most of the time)

In general, you are supposed to complain to police and help them to identify source of that currency note. But if you get same from a bank or ATM then you can inform bank manager etc.. they will readily exchange it to save hurdles and reputation of the bank.. still proper way is to complain Police.

oh then it means everyone who gets those fake notes are at loss!

yeah... who cares if its 2000 crores or 20000 crores
