Indian shares rose 0.9 percent in early trade Friday, led by gains in Reliance Industries (RELI.BO: Quote, Profile, Research) and Infosys Technologies (INFY.BO: Quote, Profile, Research), taking cues from the strong Asian markets ahead of the release of October industrial output data.
At 9:56 a.m. (0426 GMT), the 30-share BSE index .BSESN was up 0.85 percent at 17,335.39 points, with 29 components advancing.
The 50-share NSE Index .NSEI was up 0.7 percent at 5,169.15.
