Mukesh Ambani's Reliance Infrastructure is looking at developing airports in Tier II and III towns of Maharashtra in a tie-up with Naresh Goyal's Jet Airways.

The Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC), which operates seven airstrips in Baramati, Belora, Latur, Osamabad, Yavatmal, Kolhapur and Nanded, has opened up a bidding process for private participation in the development of these airstrips into commercial airports.

Sources told TOI that talks between Jet and Reliance had been on for over three weeks and a final decision on the matter would be taken shortly.
