Shourya Bollywood Movie Review (2008)
The Concept
Shaurya Movie is story about justice, truth, honour, faith and friendship. The movie revolves around charges on an army personnels and the events to uncover the truth about killing of another army man in the a courtroom drama. Story about two friends and their different views on same issue.
The Movie
Movie surely resembles A Few Good Men, we can say it is inspired from the Few Good men. The Hollywood drama, which is about Court Martial trial starring Tom Cruise - Jack Nicholson differs our Indian counterpart by the issue of problem of Minority.Showing how often people misuse their power.
In this drama which is set on army and a court trial, Major Akash Kapoor (Javed Jafri) and Major Sidhartha Kapoor (Rahul Bose) are two friends who happens to fight a case a captain Javed Khan (Deepak Dobriyal) who is charged with rebellion, disloyalty and killing a fellow officer. Things were not easy in the beginning Sidhhartha to fight case against his friend Akash but later on due to circumstances he decides to for the case.
While both army lawyers tries to fined out the truth, Javed Khan is all silent as he do not want to say anything in his defense because no one is going to believe him. During investigation, both comes across various revelation which left them stunned and hence the movie comes to an end while the truth wins.
The Conclusion
As I always says that a good movie is one which no matter how makes you sit tight in your seats in theater, be it out of curiosity or be it for excitement. This movie as said earlier is totally inspired from Hollywood counterpart "A Few Good Men" . But here they took issue of minority to be raised. Issue is not new to bollywood. We often see movies revolving same topic.
The movie treatment is average but when we have a topic like "Minority" then it is easy to guess the climax. Everything is mostly predictable. Apart of few moment between Kay Kay Menon and Rahul Bose, there is not much which you will remember.
Javed Jafri is in non-comic role which for which sometimes you will try to find him making some humour or you will try to look in his eyes if he will do a humour in next moment, well thats not. He in a non-comic role did a fine job. Kay Kay Menon and Rahul Bose shows remarkably good presence.
Minissha Lamba looked like having not much chance to act but looked confident. She looks find opposite to Rahul Bose.
In movie, there are few Bollywood style loopholes and which I don't understand why they leave it. Do they think that Indian viewers are not of that class or have lower intelligence. Sometimes those small but apparent mistakes ruines entertainment of whole movie.
I will rate it 2 out of 5 .. may be 2.5, an Average Movie.
Please give your views too.
