Car giant Honda has launched its small car Jazz in India for Rs 6.98 - Rs 7.33 lakh. It is the first small car in India from Honda, this car will enable Honda to compete in volume segment in India.
The new small car from Honda Siel Cars India (HSCI) features a 1.2 litre i-VTEC engine that has been designed for optimal drivability and efficiency.
The four-cylinder, 1198 cc state of the art i-VTEC engine of Honda Jazz car will come with Programmed Fuel Injection technology. The new technology will allow the engine to develop a healthy 90PS @ 6,200 rpm and a decent torque figure of 112Nm @ 4800 rpm.
It is capable of returning a fuel efficiency of 16.1 kmpl, which is confirmed from ARAI test data. The 1.2 i-VTEC engine of Jazz met the Euro IV emission norms and is E10 compatible like other Honda engines. The powerful engine is expected to deliver high performance just like other units that have come out from Honda's stable.
The 1.3 liter Jazz’s i-VTEC engine puts out a nice 100 PS at 6,000rpm and 127Nm of torque at 4,800rpm, while the 1.5 liter Jazz’s i-VTEC engine makes 120 PS at 6,600rpm and 145Nm of torque at 4,800rpm. For Japan, a continuously variable transmission is standard, powering with the front or optionally all four wheels.
Jazz would initially be produced at HSCI's Greater Noida facility and had planned to shift it later to its under-construction plant at Tapukara in Rajasthan.
