Sleeplessness
Some of us are unable to sleep at night even if the whole day we have worked like busy bees. Some cannot sleep as they recall the incidents which made them angry or even happy or the age old anxiety, thinking about what is to be done tomorrow and so on. The thoughts that enter your mind are limitless. In a day a person has 16,000 thoughts that pass his mind, but the beauty is that at one time only one thought is more prominent than the rest. So if you feel that out of the numerous thoughts in your mind they 15-20 are most important ones, then the best thing to do is write it down. This way you give a red flag to the sub-conscious that these thoughts I have written down are more important than the others. Your work will be completed very fast in this way.
Well coming back to the causes of sleeplessness, one is when you are very happy and two when anxiousness prevails. Note that if you are anxious about some work, the tension will make your sleep walk out of the window and so will the joyous thoughts. For eg. After your engagement your mind is on the conversation you had with your loved one. Well let us sum it up briefly; you are not getting sleep, why??? Because your conscious mind is active and by thinking about the above mentioned examples, you add fuel to fire.
Remedy: start deep breathing for one; relax all the parts of your body starting from your ankles and going gradually to the head. For those who have done yoga, do yog needra or shavasana. Chances are that you will fall asleep doing this.
Second way is to start counting sheep from 100 to 1 backwards. Eg. 100 sheep are there one crosses the fence 99 left. 99 sheep one crosses fence 98 left and so on…till all he sheep have crossed the fence. Sounds boring? It will make you sleep. Boring things usually do!!!
Third way most likeable to me is to read a book. Half an hour of eading will make you feel drowsy and also you would have learnt something new.
