in my response 2nd para may be read as I could not configure MS OUTLOOK with BSNL server.-ISP. there is some teeching problem I could come out of it.
I guess instructions are given here properly.
http://www.dataone.in/en/dataone_mai...iguration.html
What exact problem you are facing ?
I completely ready the installation manual/instructions etc., given by BSNL in their web site and in fact (pdf) version is also in my systems.
I have not spent much time in configuring Outlook with ISP BSNL, since my usage of outlook is extremely less.
any way the problems which I have faced are the following:-
1) I have configured the MS Outlook exactly as per the instruction given by BSNL for configuring Outlook express - obsolutely no error - repeatedly I have done.
2) in BSNL Instructions in several placeds they mention VSNL server details, which gives little confustion.
2) I have understanding problem in respect of;
a) My incoming Mail Server (POP3)
b) Incoming (POP3)
c) Outgoing (SMTP)
[p.s.] in all the cases, I have followed as per instructions available in BSNL site
when I use Outlook for email, I get error messages stating "there was a problem logging your mail server" - and I could not make MS Outlook Express as my default.
as I have not convinced in keeping MS Outlook experess as default, I left the issue of configuring Outlook express.
thanks for interest shown on the subject.
Not a big issue .. well.. before going in details, can you login to BSNL webmail ?
If No, then there is problem of password / account .
If Yes, then rather than solving, I must explain you few things..
To receive mail in a mail client like outlook you should have following information:
a : POP server details ie. to receive mails.
b: SMTP server details ie. to send mails.
d: Username and Passwords
They have provided various POP servers (they refer POP as POP3).
wmma.dataone.in
smma.dataone.in
nmma.dataone.in
So you have to try one by one, I guess if you are from north then use nmma.dataone.in and likewise use smma.dataone.in if you are from south. (just a guess).
Now about SMTP (outgoing servers)
wmra.dataone.in
smra.dataone.in
nmra.dataone.in
Again three outgoing servers, you have to try one by one to see which one is allotted to you.
Lastly, username and password, verify by login to webmail here:
http://mail.bsnl.in/
If success then only problem of incorrect servers. Assume other settings as standard ie. port etc. Take as they are given the client.
I hope that was helpful to you!
thank you sir,
previously though I have tried again and again I was not serious on the subject.
let me try again sincerely,
once again thank you for the given solution
kind regards
sincerely

Incoming mail server : pop.bsnl.in
outgoing mail server : smtp.bsnl.in
