can't we protect teenage girl prostitution in india
Prostitution is illegal in India at whole.. but still we have prostitution everywhere .
Almost in every part of India, police is aware of Prostitution area.. but they only raid there when they find that they need to show some good work or they develops conflicts with those prostitution center owner.
So we need more determined law enforcement body and also its fault of common man too. We should force them to take action. But mostly people keep quiet.
hi ricky, i very much agree with you...
but do we really have any laws to stop 'prostitution'...?
is it illegal...?
is there any document with a statement that 'prostitution' is not allowed?
now i am really not sure of any of these...
do we really know how many women are undergoing this terrible act?
why are they undergoing this?
who is making them undergo?
That is real nice question.
India has a law named PITA which is basically to discourage prostitution in India but this law is itself a vague. According to this law, prostitution is not illegal nor legal.
Ya its clearly written that client who are with 16 year or younger girl may get punished.
However people running brothels are can be punished.

So Govt.'s policy is to eradicated prostitution but no clear laws are there. Govt. says that running places like brothels are punishable offense but on the other hand it says that prostitutes are not allowed to serve their clients in 200 yrds of distance of public place.. ie. places declared prostitution free by Govt.
Also.. there is a point that..
They can't solicit their client in public..
What does that means.. is Govt. allowing them indirectly ? Misleading law..
Isn't ?
Trafficking of persons is the second largest illegal trade after arms sale. In 1997 according to U.N calculations, the procurers, smugglers, and corrupt public officials involved in the international trade in human beings, extracted $ 7 billion in profits from their cargo. There are no accurate statistics of how many people are involved, but it is estimated that in the last 30 years, trafficking in women and children in Asia for sexual exploitation alone has victimized over 30 million people. Everyday about 200 girls and women in India enter prostitution and 80% of them against their will. At the current rate of growth by 2025 one out of every five Indian girl children will be a child prostitute.
Every hour, four women and girls in India enter prostitution, three of them against their will.
Unless and until we are able to eradicate poverty,we won't be able to stop it.
laws can change that
this can stop by educating them and provide them job,as its all for money
