Google has released a magazine reading application called 'Google Currents' for smartphones or tablet computers. The Google current also allows users to read magazines, news papers and other similar content.The California internet titan has worked for more than 150 publishing partners to offer full length articles. The appliction is available in US for free and it also supports offline viewing.
Google has also launched a self service platform which will enable its enable its publisher the freedom to design, brand and customize the content. “For example, if you’re a small regional news outlet, a non-profit organisation without access to a mobile development team, or a national TV network with web content, you can effortlessly create hands-on digital publications for Google Currents,” says Google. People are invited to download the application and subscribe for free to publication which includes The Guardian, ABC news and The Atlantic.
