Bollywood Movie Review: My name is Anthony Gonsalves
The Concept :
Movie is about an orphan who is brought up by a Gangster and has a dream to be a Superstar. But life is not easy as you expect. Sometimes you get the trouble just before you are about to get the success.
The Movie
Anthony (Nikhil Dwivedi) is an orphan but is brought up by a DON but being a DON he kept him away from underworld and rather made him a good person by giving Anthony's responsibility to Father Briganza (Mithun Chakraborthy).
Soon this boy (who now works as bartender in bar of his Mentor ie. Pawan Malhotra) gets a break in a movie and falls in love with the assistance director (Amrita Rao) .
Things were going just right but then he saw a murder and becomes a eyewitness to it. Trouble begins now, which path he has to choose ? This is the movie.
The Conclusion
Movie, directed by E. Niwas has many thing not balanced in the movie, movie is noticeably slow in first half and worst about this movie is that you can guess everything, even you can guess the end of movie. Neither there is any new thing in presentation. Writing seems to be so amateurish. Copying Shakespeare is not the formula to make equally classic movies.
Amrita Rao looks charming but she has not much to do, Pawan and Anupam Kher actually gives relief from their performance and Mithun Chakraborthy who is a priest as well a Kung fu fighter ? .. is Mr. nice nice in the movie and at times he actually became highlight in the movie. Nikhil Dwivedi, surely he has to learn a lot but its ok for a starter.
I give it 2 out of 5 ie. POOR movie, not even worthy to watch.
