Maruti Suzuki reveals the 2013 facelifted version of its popular vehicle and one slotted in one of the highest selling car," Wagon R". The Maruti Suzuki Wagon R is one of the highest selling cars in the history of Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. The Wagon R, which got a comprehensive model update a couple of years back, has now got a mild facelift to remain fresh in the market.
This car has been one of the most successful entities of the company in small segment, with over 12.34 lakh units sold since its launch in 1999. The vehicle has undergone three up gradations so far in the years 2003, 2006, 2010 and this would be the fourth time it is going through alterations.
The interiors have also been reworked. The dashboard now gets a dual-tone colour scheme – beige for the top half and black for the bottom. The LX and LXi get dual-colour, beige and black seats, while the top-end VXi gets all-beige upholstery. Exclusive to the top VXi variant is a fully integrated ‘Eagle Wings’ audio system with USB input. As is evident from the pics, the WagonR refresh gets a chunkier front bumper and a revised grille with chrome garnish. Other changes include different fog-lamps housing and a larger air dam.
The updated version is powered by a 1.0-litre, three-cylinder K Series petrol motor while power and torque remain unchanged. The car once again will be offered in CNG and Petrol variants. Also the front bumper, headlights and grill are re-designed. The prices for Maruti Suzuki's face lifted Wagon R may be announced next week and an increase of 0.5 percent to 2 percent is expected.
