Recently there was quite a fuzz over the discounted sale of vehicles because of Supreme court's order to curb BSIII variants of automobiles in country citing health issues. Every manufacturer cleared their stock before the given deadline while others have upgraded their vehicle for BS4 Standard.
Royal Enfield has also made Himalayan being shifted to a fuel-injected setup instead of a carburettor. The Royal Enfield Himalayan was launched in India last year and the Indian version misses out on FI and ABS. The 410cc, single-cylinder engine gets a carburetor but due to Supreme Court's order The Himalayan is going to get FI and the updated model is showcased on Royal Enfield’s Indian website. It will also get a price hike of Rs 6000 with the introduction of FI. While the top variant with FI and ABS will also see a price increase of Rs 25,000-30,000. Royal Enfield has made no announcements regarding this changes officially but the price of the Royal Enfield Himalayan has gone up a little bit and we are hoping to see this FI model in May 2017.
With the addition of EFI though, there was no change to the engine’s specifications, with the 411cc single-cylinder, oil-and-air-cooled unit putting out the same 24.5hp at 6,500rpm and a peak torque of 32Nm at 4,250rpm. The five-speed gearbox too stays unchanged.
Now apart of 350cc engine, all other models from Royal Enfield comes equipped with FI technology. With 350cc engines, they were able to manage to meet BSIV standard without using FI.
