Mahindra & Mahindra, is in news one after another for its aggressive moves in auto sector. The company has recently launched a four-wheeler cab, in the Hyderabad on Monday. The company has launched this cab focusing on city drive and for contract carriage travel in India. The Geo cab is available in the market with a price tag of Rs. 1.95 lakh (es-showroom, Hyderabad).
The vice president (Sales), Mahindra & Mahindra, Vijay Nakra reported to a mediapersond, "Gio compact cab offers consumers more trips resulting in 27 per cent higher results than three-wheelers. We are targeting the 17,000-unit per month three-wheeler market with Gio,”.
He also reported that the Gio compact cab was developed for specific use in areas of school children movement segment within Tier-II and Tier-III towns in India. In addition, other segments, which will find this vehicle extremely useful include large campuses, resorts and factories that have transportation requirements within their own premises.
"The company have a capacity to manufacture 24,000 units of Gio Compact Cab, which could be scaled up to close to 40,000 units once the demand picks up and the vehicle is rolled out pan-India by the end of this year,” Vijay Nakra said.
The company also planning to roll-out this vehicle in diesel variant but the release date of this variant is not decided yet but when a media person asked about the release date of diesel variant of Gio Compact Cab then Nakar said, "Not immediately but in near future.”
