• Mahindra Genio Pickup Truck Launched - Based on Xylo

    Mahindra and Mahindra launched it's new next-gen pick-up truck in indian market. Mahindra keep in minds the captive segment – small and medium business needs – the Genio pick-up is priced at Rs 4.99 lakh for the BS-III variant (ex-showroom Navi Mumbai). M&M is expecting to chenge the face of pick-up truck by launch it's new stylich 'Genio'.

    Now let's talk about the feature of this new Mahindra's Genio, It’s powered by a 75 hp 2500cc MDi CRDe engine which makes 22.4 kgm of torque and takes the Genio to a top-speed of 120 kph. The exteriors, especially the front-end elements, have undergone a facelift to make it look fresh and different.

    After Maxximo the Genio single-cab pick-up will be the second product that will be rolled out of Mahindra’s new Chakan facility. The pickup has been developed from Mahindra’s Ingenio platform (U-platform) – the same platform which formed the basis of the Xylo MPV.

    If we talking about the design then it have a assembling design, It front sports headlamps taken from the Logan, with round inserts for fog lamps in the bumper and a redesigned grille, without the chrome M&M “tooth” grille. It looks a lot more sober than the Xylo and in fact a tad better.

    The Mahindra Genio is available in four colour options – Metallic Silver Shine, Diamond White, Marvel Granite and Skyline Blue, and competes with the Tata 207, besides its own stable mates, the Bolero Camper and Maxx Pik-Up. It does not feature a four-wheel drive variant at the moment.

    As per the company said, the Genio will be available across 70 dealerships at the time of the launch. And by mid-February 2011, the pickup will be available across Mahindra CV dealerships pan India.
