With new surprising things. Ford is going to launch a new Mini SUV in the Indian market place. It is said that that new ford Mini SUV will be based on figo platform. However, there is already one such similar SUV available in Brazil named as EcoSport which sells in Brazil and is based on the B-Platform. The vehicle is 4.3 metres in length and comes with both manual and automatic gearbox. It employees four powertrain options, the smallest which is the 1.4-liter power plant.
As per speculation, this SUV is already under test/evaluation at the FORD factory in Chennai . This SUV and fiesta hatchback are both undergoing trails in the factory test track currently
Though western countries are now opting for more eco-friendly vehicles but still SUVs are no less in supply or may be Indians are with more power to purchase such vehicles more than before. May be this is the reason more and more companies are making route to India for their new launches.
The last few years have seen a tremendous rise in the number of SUV models available in India. According to the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers, sale of SUVs of up to seven-seat capacity in the country surged by 62.4 per cent in May to 13,042 units, compared to 8,029 units in the same month last year.
