• Toyota Liva launch postponed in India

    The much awited car from Toyota Kirloskar Motors Limited (TKML) Etios Liva the hatchback will some delay in its launch. The launch of this car has been postponed from April to June. And the reason stated by the company to reduce the waiting period of Etios Sedan that's why they postponed the launch of Etios Liva hatchback.

    The Deputy Managing Director, Mr Sandeep Singh said in a statement, released to the media, "We thank our customers for the response we have received for the Etios and also for the patience shown through the waiting period. We would also like to sincerely apologize, to people eagerly awaiting the hatchback – Etios Liva, for the postponement of the launch. We will do everything we can to limit inconvenience caused to our customers.”

    The company has taken this step to cut out the waiting period of it's Etios Sedan. The company had plan to begin production of the Liva hatch by Feb-March and utilizing a second shift to do that. Now, it seems that the company will utilise the second shift to produce more Etios and bring down the waiting period to calm the customer's confinement.

    The customer who booked the car have withdrawn their booking amount after this long waiting period, even some of the company dealers faced almost 50% cancellation and hence the company has taken this step to not further deviate customer interest. The Etios range are being produced from a new 70,000 unit P.A. capacity plant next to the old plant.

    So, the customer were who excited for the Toyota Etios Liva hatchback have to wait for little more time. But good news for the customer who were desperately waiting for Etios Sedan because they can get their Sedan soon. The current Etios Sedan is powered with a 1.5-litre petrol engine, but will be offered in the second-half of 2011 with a 1.4-litre diesel motor option as well. And same as Etios Sedan the Liva hatchback will be powered by a 1.2-litre petrol motor and the 1.4-litre diesel options from the Etios. It may also be offered with the 1.5-litre petrol motor as a hot hatch option.
