• Bajaj may launch Boxer 150cc for India

    Advert.
The leading brand in bike segment Bajaj is planing to launch it's new Boxer 150 cc with a price tag of approx. Rs. 40,000. Bajaj will launch this bike as a 'Bharat Bike' ie. Bike for India and it will be available for big cities as well as for rural areas.

Currently, Bajaj auto export it nearly 50,000 Boxers each month from it's China assembly plant to Africa. The Managing Director Mr Rajiv Bajaj said, "The Pulsar and Discover are India bikes for the urban, upmarket customer. However, there are a whole lot of other people in smaller centres who need effective transport solutions in the two-wheeler space. The Boxer has been designed to meet this requirement,”.

He also added, "From our point of view, it is all about a strategy of categories. Simply put, we would like to create our own categories instead of churning out ‘me too’ products,”.

Bajaj's current available bikes like 'Pulsar' and 'Discover' both bikes are successful on the Indian road and mostly younger prefer these bike. The price of these bikes is much higher so the company want to introduce it's new Boxer which could be proved a good option for the customer who wants a 150 cc bike yet at a low price.

In term of average the you should feel little disappointment because the average of the bike will not be same as its 100 cc counterpart but the company believes that the average of it's new Boxer 150 cc is enough for the people who are looking for more power and mostly people are ready to accept a little less mileage bike in lieu of Power. About that Mr. Bajaj said, “This is what worked with the 150cc Discover which hardly took any time in notching up monthly numbers of 40,000 units,".

The bike could give a tough competition to some low segment bike of Hero Honda like 'Splendor'. Let's see will this bike make people confuse between 'Splendor' and itself or people will still give preference to tried and trusty 100cc or to new 150cc power yet cheaper engined bike.
