• Land Rover Freelander 2 prices dropped in India

    Tata motors has reduced the price of Land Rover Freelander by 7-8 lakhs through assembling it at their new Pune plant. Now Land Rover Freelander SE variant available in the market with a price tag of Rs. 33.89 lakhs while the HSE variant is available with price of Rs. 40 lakhs ex-showroom, Mumbai.

    According to a news, at the inauguration of their plant at the former Mercedes-Benz site near Pune, Carl Peter Forster, group CEO, Tata Motors and Dr. Ralf Speth, CEO, Juguar, Land Rover said that they were discussing with the Government regarding the duty structure. They also added that assembling transmissions in India doesn’t make sense and that by assembling the Freelander here in India, they’re trying to make their cars more accessible.

    The SE variant of Land Rover Freelander 2 has a 147bhp 2.2-litre diesel engine while the HSE has a 186bhp version of the same engine. Both model comes with four-wheel drive, six-speed automatic transmission, GPS navigation, terrain management system and leather stuff for the interior of the car.

    It is expected that these SUV give a tough competition to the other vehicle of other global company like AUdi Q5, BMW's X3, Volvo's XC60 in India. And it will be counted as TATA's another effort to make Indian Global.
