• New Hero Honda 180cc dirt bike coming soon for India

    India's largest bike company by number of sales, Hero Honda is planning to launch its three new dirt bike in India at the end of the year. These dirt bike are going to be the first dirt bikes in India and fist from Hero Honda also.


    After the separation from the Japanese company, Honda Hero Honda Motors Ltd will be renamed to Hero MotoCorp. Ltd but till the agreement between both company is valid Honda will provide technology for new models of the Hero Honda. The agreement between both companies is up to 2014 to provide technological support to Hero by Honda.

    Confirmed through reliable resources that the company is working on these dirt bikes however, the sources refused to reveal their identity and remained anonymous.

    According to sources , it is confirmed from those who are directly involved in this project said, “Not only will this be the country’s first dirt bike, but also the first (of Hero Honda’s motorcycles) to be launched under the new brand name.”

    The company will launch these bike with an 180cc engine and these dirt bike will Hero's first in this segment.

    The parts of bike Imported in CKD (completely Knocked down) from Honda Motor and will be assembled in the Gurgaon plant of Hero Honda's. The price of these dirt bike is not confirmed but according two a person who is close to this project said that it would be priced around 1.1 to 1.3 lakh.


    As the Vehicles in 100cc and 125cc engine capacity account for one-fourth of all motorcycles sold in India.The company is also planning to launch bikes in the 100 cc and 125 cc segments. As the Glamour bike from Hero Honda is not doing well in its segment, new launches in this segment will help Hero Honda to revive and further boost their sales.

    The company got the clearance from the Registrar to rename its name to Hero MotoCorp. and the new brand name of the company will be unveiled on 14 July. A meeting is to be held at its Haridwar plant in Uttarakhand to apporve the new brand name on 17 June.

    More information of these bikes will be made available soon, however as they are being imported as CKD from Honda Motors, Japan, they will definitely have some technological advancements than other bikes.
