Toyota, one of the significant car manufacturer in India is planning to roll out Lexus car in India. Lexus is one of the prominent brand worldwide in the Luxury car segment.
The company is planning to roll out Lexus in India to foray into the Luxury sedan segment. Company is currently in research phase find out the possibilities of their upcoming product in India.
"The company was considering a series of new initiatives as it expands in India. We are studying, and now more deeply considering to bring Lexus to India," said Hiroshi Nakagawa, MD of Toyota Kirloskar Motors.
He also said that company is looking to start car finance division, Toyota Financial Services which will further help them to enhance their sales and provide better services.
Currently Indian market is witnessing amid growth in luxury segment, recently luxury market saw 70% growth in sales. Companies like Audi, BMW, TATA Jaguar and other luxury cars are registering positive figures.
The company officials said Lexus could be retailed by separate dealerships. "Traditionally, Toyota does not share dealer network with Lexus. However, we cannot be too sure about India as it is too early now," Singh said.
By foraying in this luxury segment through Lexus, company is looking to expand its footprint in Indian market along with diversifying their product offering.
