• Triumph Motorcycle to Foray in Indian Market by 2012

    Triumph, one of the world's most rewarded motorcycle brand is looking to enter Indian market very soon. The company is already assessing Indian market to make a strategic move into the motorcycle market of Indian automobile industry. The company intend to tap the second largest motorcycle market in the world ie. India.


    Indian is already seeing boost in premium bike segment. The global players like Yamaha, Ducati, BMW, Harley Davidson is already posting smart growth in India.

    As per Triumph's spokesman Paul Taylor, Indian market has great potential and majority of its buyers are youngster who are taking premium bikes with great enthusiasm.

    Triumph is a world renowned brand with presence around the world . They are maker of bikes like 2.3 litre Rocket III, the Speed Triple, the award-winning Daytona 675 supersport machine and the recently launched Tiger 800. Established in 1902, and now based in Hinckley, Leicestershire is now one of the fastest growing motorbike brand in the world.

    The company has annual production of 50,000 bikes and they are looking to expand their operations.

    They have not revealed any details about the bikes they are going to launch in India however, as per company representative , they will initially launch six models in India. The approximate price of different models ranges from Rs. 4.8 lakhs to Rs. 9 lakhs, it may be little costlier including taxes of India.

    Triumph is yet to decide whether to sell imported bikes in India or having complete-knocked-down (CKD) kits, the spokesman said.

    The company has appointed Royal Enfield's ex-Europe head Ashish Joshi as its Managing Director for India.
