Mahindra, the company who is moving up high in the auto sector is going to launch its NXR model in early 2012. This project is under the Mahindra Reva Electric Vehicles Pvt. Ltd, which is located in Bangalore. The company will launched its full-sized-seater electric car 'EV NXR' which has a capacity of four people.
The company decided to give it's costumer option to choose the lithium battery or Lead acid battery. The car is costly with lithium battery in comparison of lead acid battery which is a noticeable point.
Mr.R.Chandramouli,Mahindra Reva’s chief of operations said "Even for the existing cars, Mahindra Reva plans to fit lithium batteries that have 40 per cent higher battery life". He added that because of the association with Mahindra, which last year acquired 55 per cent in Reva Electric Car Company, its finance arm, Mahindra Finance, now offers a buyback scheme for the customers.
Now, if we look into the performance of the car than the lithium battery variant will provides a higher speed as well as mileage of about 100 km for every charge. The other variant of the car which has a lead acid battery will give a mileage of 80 km per charge. The lithium battery have 40 percent higher battery life in the comparison of lead battery. Thus, both variant differ from each other.
This electric car comes with a dent-resistant material which is unique thing about this car. The height of this car is not similar to other hatchback car which is available in the market.
Expectedly, the price of both variant will be Rs.3.36 lakh to Rs. 3.89 lakh (on road price in Bangalore). But, the company has not announced the price yet.
