The Italian auto company is looking to enhance its strength in the Indian market by introducing its first compact SUV Sedici in the market. The company is planning to launch its SUV Sedici which will be it's first SUV. The company will launch this SUV in the market after modifying it according to the Indian driving condition.
The company has not disclosed what modification they will make to make it India compatible. However, in compact SUV segment, they will definitely look forward to launch at competitive price and features.
Fiat's joint venture partner in India, Tata Motors, affirmed that the venture had not been as active as had been originally planned. Ratan Tata said the JV needs to be critically examined to optimize its potential. He also added that Fiat should launch more models in India to keep its name in the Indian car market. Since last year Fiat has been trying to expand its Indian portfolio.
The company seems to be very impatient to bring a SUV in the increasing compact SUV segment in India. Currently, Fiat has only two car in their portfolio Fiat Punto hatchback and Fiat Linea sedan.
