• New Mahindra all Electric Compact Car coming year 2012

    Advert.
Mahindra & Mahindra is all set to launch next generation of Reva cars in India from next year. This car will be showcased in Auto Expo 2012. The new car is expected to be nine times more fuel efficient than petrol driven cars and is easily expected to fit in four adults. This will make the car comfortable as well as fuel efficient at the same time. With the fuel prices reaching new heights every day, this car is expected to be a blessing for a common man.

This car can easily reach the top speed of 100km and can run continuously for 160km with one time charge. The company officials claim that with the prices of fuel soaring it will be the right time to launch this vehicle. An average Indian spends around 10,000 rupees on fuel every month and are now more interested in petrol substitute vehicles. This car will give an average of about 9.6km for every Rs.3 spent.

The company is planning to set up a manufacturing base near Bangalore which will be capable of producing at least 30,000 units each year. The company also plans to sell this product through it's outlets in the country.

The present generation of Reva is sold in 24 countries and in three variants. There is a huge cost involved in developing battery technology and in absence of government support and incentives it's production cost is expected to be high, which means this car will not be cheap in India. It will be interesting to see the response that the car gets in Auto Expo and lot of it's fate will be decided there.
